Summary: In 2002 Dia DiCristino was diagnosed with an
Arachnoid Cyst on the brain -- it was covering over 1/4 of her
brain including the occipital lobes and cerebellum.
She experienced hydrocephalus, bacterial meningitis, shunt
failure and more.
The anticipated memoir, The Living Morgue is currently still in
process. This book covers the other side to that year and also
the grueling surgeries-- Dia was discriminated against by her
university because she became disabled. She never backed
down and continued school and graduated in 2004 with a BA
in music and theology. This part of 2003 was not covered in
The Year of the Cyst. Please keep an eye out at a book store
